Life's A Beach: Part 1

Welcome to the first of a 3-part series! This is a photographic journey through our 3 days in Cape May, NJ. It was a last-minute Labor Day trip decision....thanks to the quick thinking of a Miss Darci Nelson...and it turned out to be a stroke of genius! GENIUS, I tell you! It turned out to be low stress, high relaxation, and tons of laughs and fun with good friends. Oh - and good food. Anyway - nothing outlandish to report...just days at the beach, nights laughing and walking and exploring, and after some prodding and coaxing, the non-believers giving in to the addictive powers of Friday Night Lights. And the rest folks, as they say, was history. The ONE constant of the weekend that the pictures will attest to: Cubbie was the LIFE of the party, and we were all willing spectators. Enjoy the pics....and Go DILLON PANTHERS!

Even at 5:30am, everyone seemed excited and ready to ROLL!

The first apperance of Cubbie Nelson!

Rachel and Bryan show their excitement as Darci hands out driving directions.

Red Vines got everyone through the trip a little easier.

We only had one real traffic slow-down...

and Cubbie found ways to entertain herself....and us....

until we finally reached the house, the beach and the magic!

Rachel & Stephanie enjoying the weather. Bryan and Cubbie entertain.

Cubbie brought her mu-mu for a post-water fashion show...

and somehow managed to make buck-teeth out of 2 shells. The good times just kept rolling!

After Steph and I had our fill of the sun the first day, we headed to the local Wa-Wa, for sandwiches....

and to my surprise, I found they were stocked with the Elvis Peanut Butter & banana creme cups. They became the HIT of the house.

Post-beach, pre-dinner, Darci and I went out on a little exploring mission and found a pirate....

a cannon.....

AND a Lima Bean Festival! Who WOULDN'T want to vacation here?

Down-time at the house was spent relaxing, watching TV and text-messaging.

The girls stop and smile....about an hour into our 40 minute wait for dinner.

Darci's birthday is September 7th, but we celebrated early with free cake at dinner.

And the cake was a HIT! As was our first day!

Happy faces like THESE don't lie!
