early rehearsal report

so i'm happy to report that rehearsals are in full swing for BUSYTOWN in bethesda. we're learning the music and discussing the script...and today we even started getting the show up on it's feet. and i'm going to tell you this much...i really don't think i've laughed as much during a rehearsal process as i have, so far, during this process. (my early apologies to our esteemed director, krissie.) i don't know what it is...but we have a VERY funny collection of people...and it seems like every little thing in the script sets us off. what that tells me is that we are in for a LOT of fun as we continue to build and explore this city of BUSYTOWN. and it also means that you, the audience, are in for a rich experience...as we channel our energy into this show. there is a lot to enjoy and celebrate and embrace in this little town...and we're having a great time learning that!

for now, enjoy some pictures from our first couple of days...

tiernan (L) and emily are caught by surprise...singing about pickle cars.

sara takes a 'giggle break' from the material.

the 'talent' hard at work.

don (L) discusses sargeant murphy with our director, krissie.

music director, keith, plays while krissie formulates a plan.

table work fun with don, mj and emily.

the girls listening to....something...very intently.

a look at the set model.

once about 3pm hits, things start to go downhill FAST.....

some pictures have no explanations.

emily starts in on her 'special skills' routine.

and THEN the color accenting started. mj all green and contemplative.

unclear.

even more unclear.

pretty sure it's the end of a long day in busytown!
